Older Bikers

I just wanted to let all of our members know there is a possibility the rally originally called Little Sturgis, then Kentucky Bikefest and now being referred to as Kentucky Bike Rally MAY be shut down this year (2012) for legal reasons.

Furthermore, in the event the rally is not shut down, I am personally Boycotting Little Sturgis Rally also known as Kentucky Bike Rally & run by the owners of Custom Biker Wear in Sturgis, KY.

What other club members do, is entirely up to them, however my reason for conducting this boycott is because I feel that I personally as well as the Older Bikers RC owe Tim Banks, (the owner of Cycle Works) a certain amount of loyalty for all of the help he has offered to our club and it's members.

I have been informed that Carlene Thomas, (the owner of Custom Biker Wear in Sturgis, KY) collected the gate fee and other monies from last year's rally in Sturgis, KY but has refused to return the initial investment and a percentage of the profits to certain investors, including Cycle Works.

I also know from personal experience that certain vendors in attendance at last year's rally, donated merchandise that was supposed to be used as prizes in the Toys For Tot's Poker Run, however one of Carlene's representatives insisted on giving some of that merchandise to individuals that did not attend the poker run and would not even inform the audience who donated the merchandise.

There are many other details I will share with club members in private, but for now, it is enough to state that I value "loyalty to friends" and consider Tim as a friend to me and of the OBRC, as such I refuse to offer any physical or financial support to people or businesses that use, screw, lie to or cheat any club member and/or known and trusted friends like Tim Banks.

I agree and stand with FTW!!! Tim is a great friend of OBRC and I think he got a raw deal !!! Tim and his crew worked their tails off to get that Rally going again and if it wasnt for them it wouldnt have been the sucess that it was!! My hat goes off to Tim and his crew and I support them!!!
