Hi Ronnie, I saw your other post and was going to respond, but was waiting to check out a map and follow Hwy 50 across country to see where you would be traveling.

Basically, we have members living close to hwy 50 in IL, IN and OH.

Now that we have a date for your trip, I will be sending out emails to our members, in order to see who is available to meet with you.

I do know that I can get some members from IN and KY together, in order to meet up with you, but will have to check with the members from IL and OH.

I will let you know, as soon as I find out more info.

Keep us posted on the approximate date of when you expect to hit the Indiana state line, so we can have a welcome and possibly even an escort available for you.

Good morning!

Just reading through the posts and found this one...Jess and I would be more than happy to let you spend time with us. We are just 20 miles south of 50 in Jasper, IN. We can put you up for as long as you need and can take you back to 50 either by the straight route or through a scenic route...(around here a scenic route is a farm road lol). Just let us know what you would like to do.

The 14th would work out great for me. I will be leaving on July10th and heading to a rally in Little Sturgis, Kentucky. I will be camping there until the 18th of July, except for a one day break on July 17th when I will be going to another rally for the day in Shawneetown Illinois.

If you guys come through on the 14th, my plans are to ride to EAST St. Louis and meet you, then ride with you as far as Jasper, Indiana where one of our members plan on putting you up for the night.

Then, the next morning, I plan on riding with you for awhile before turning around and heading back to the rally.

As far as me heading to Nevada in August, I would love to. Basically, I am waiting to set an exact date until you guys are ready to hold elections for officers. Then I plan on being there to sanction your new chapter.

BTW, if you guys have vests, you might want to bring them along on your trip. I just might have a little surprise for you when I meet you.

As far as my phone number, Ed has it and I thought I had emailed it to you. But just to be sure, I will send you each an email with my cell number, so you can reach me.

Thanks and I am looking forward to meeting both of you in person. I also plan on sending out some emails to other members, to see who else will either be riding with me to meet you, or planing on meeting you along your route for coffee.

Ronnie and Polocycle,
I just got an email from one of our members that lives in Illinois, right on Hwy 50 and he would like to meet you, however since he is one of the "younger" members that still works for a living, it will depend
on the time of day you pass through his town.

Anyway, I will be tracking your trip and have both of your cell numbers, so when you guys stop at night, I can call you.

Looking forward to seeing you real soon,
Ride safe

In order to update our members that plan on meeting Ronnie1948 and Polocycle as they travel across the USA, I decided to post a "general" guide as to where they have been so far.

Saturday, they made it from Nevada to Utah and by Sunday night, they made it to Colorado. Since the roads they are traveling go through the Rocky Mountains and they are traveling mostly 2 lane highway, that is some beautiful but time consuming country.

As soon as I figure out when they might make it to the flat lands and close to some of our other members, I will let those members know.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the guys are in Oklahoma. As near as I can tell they are about 630 to 650 miles from Jasper Indiana.

My plans are to wait until they stop for the night, ( I am hoping it will be around 6 pm to 8pm our time) and then call them in order to find out what time they plan on starting in the morning.

If they travel another 120 or more miles this evening, they should be able to make it to Indiana by tomorrow evening.

At this point, I believe there will be several members from the Owensboro chapter that plan on riding to St. Louis with me tomorrow, plus we may have a couple of members riding up to Jasper after work, to meet with all of us, so my plans are to call everyone tonight and give them an update on the time frame.

I am also looking for a volunteer from the Owensboro area that would be willing to ride to Jasper in "Old Hippys" truck with him, so that he doesn't fall asleep or get lost. So if anyone would like to ride along or if you want to meet our out of town members in Jasper or St. Louis, let me know ASAP.

Thanks

I just got off the phone with Ronnie and told him to call me tomorrow when they stop for lunch.

The way it looks right now, they should make it to St. Louis tomorrow, but it will be late in the afternoon and then they will have another 165 miles to Jasper, so it will be evening time before they make it to Jasper.

I will probably leave for St. Louis around noon or later. I will check their progress first thing in the morning and post an update here.

Thanks

I have been watching the guys real close this morning and they have made it to Arkansas, however I don't think they will be able to make it all the way to Jasper by tonight.

HOWEVER, when they stop for lunch and call me, I MAY have an alternative to offer them. Since they are so far south, We might be able to head south through Paducah and meet them in some town other then St. Louis.

As soon as I talk to them, I will post an update here.

Richard, Hambone and I are leaving for Sikeston MO to meet Paul and Ronnie. Then we are escorting them to either Lil Sturgis OR Owensboro for the night.

Anyone that wants an update should call HarLady.

Thanks

Just figured I would let everyone know how Ronnie and Polocycle are progressing.

According to their gps, they are in Texas, on their way back to Nevada and California, so they have been making real good time and should make it back home by Sunday night.

Keep up the good work guys and enjoy the view in every state you cross.

Ronnie and Paul, I am glad to hear that you guys made it back home safely and in time for Polocycle to make it back to w-o-r-k on time.

It was a real pleasure meeting you guys in person and being able to spend some time with you.

I hope you enjoyed your trip and all the new sights you got to see. Maybe next time, I can ride with you all the way back to CAL.

It was indeed a pleasure meeting you guys. Wish we had more time together. I'm envious of your trip but glad you're back home safely. Did that license plate make it all the way home?

First off, the boys from KY are super! They took great care of Ronnie and I and I want to send my thanks for such friendship. I would of loved to spend another week with you guys I was having so much fun.

If you guys get out this way let us know so we can return some of the great care you gave us. I would also like to spend a week with FTW and hear somemore of his great stories. I have a great picture of FTW and a strange woman in a gas station. Looking at the pictures last night I noticed FTW eyes were not looking at the camera. Big Grin Big Grin Will post pictures in a day or so after I go through all of them. Over 7000 miles for me and over 2500 pictures. Lots of work ahead of me.

And yes I did make it back to work. Big Grin

You can find the album at the bottom of the page at:

We are looking forward to viewing them.
