For the Western North Carolina Alzheimer’s Association
The money is used for research, education and support of
programs to find prevention methods, treatments and an eventual
cure for Alzheimer’s. More than 14 million people in the United
States will have Alzheimer's disease by the middle of the 21st
century unless science finds a way to prevent or cure the disease.
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, it is the third most
costly disease, after heart disease and cancer. |
